Understanding rehabilitation as restoring something or someone to a previous condition helps in sorting out the various forms of drug rehab. The most effective drug rehab would be one that is long-term and non-traditional, specializing in creating drug free productive lives, not someone who has simply stopped drug or alcohol use for the moment. Effective drug rehab should involve the full and complete handling of the three factors that lay behind continued drug use and numerous relapses. First are mental and physical cravings for drugs or alcohol. Second and third are guilt and depression resulting from the situations and circumstances of our addiction, as well as various forms of these three that led up to initial drug and alcohol use to begin with. There is more to drug rehab than simply ceasing drug or alcohol use.

Can substance abuse cause an addict to have liver problems? When my daughter started using we tried to find an addiction drug rehab treatment center for her but the one we wanted to send her to would not take her because her liver was bad and this meant she wouldn't be able to do the program. Is there a program we can send her to that will help her overcome this addiction and get rid of the toxins stored in her body so she doesn't relapse? What kind of addiction drug rehab treatment will be best for her so that she can overcome this horrible substance abuse?

When my daughter came home from college last year she was in horrible shape due to addiction. My husband and I didn't know what to do but we knew we had to do something. I thought my daughter was going to die but my prayers were answered because there are people who care enough to make it their business to help families find the right kind of help when help is needed.
